Activities

First of all: I do not see myself as an entertainer, but as a counselor! What ever you want to know, I'll try to provide the necessary information. You can also easily find out everything on your own, what I can show you, I've also explored everything in that way without any problems. Those who do not speak German on Hvar can, at least as good English, that it will not fail because of communication.

Whether you want an "active holiday", or simply relax, you are right here. Hvar offers something for everybody! We have searched for years, tried and compared. Here we found such a variety of landscapes, sports facilities, secluded beaches, nice restaurants and cultural offerings on only one single island!

And for those who have already explored everything on the island of course more is possible:

Day trips to Dubrovnik, Krka Nationalpark with it's waterfalls, or discover beautiful old town of Split (UNESCO world heritage)!

Water Sports

Diving

Admittedly, I'm biased! As I'm diving since many years, I'm of course very happy to go under water, but be careful: there exists something like an "compressed air-virus". Several dive centers on the island offer for both, beginners and for experienced divers everything you need:

Diving courses in several languages , rental equipment, comfortable dive boats, day trips, shore dives, night dives and last but not least - fabulous dive spots nearby. Caves, wrecks, cliffs, divers heart, what more do you want?

Are you interested? Well, we have the information you need. In cooperation with the diving schools and diving centers here on Hvar we will bring the underwater world to closer,
what means, shuttle service to the dive center, discount offers, tips for beginners, discover scuba diving .... ask us!

Surfing

The windy coast of Croatia brings excellent conditions for windsurfers. Surf fans from around the world know the secret to Croatia's winds. Popular are not only the warm summer winds Maestral (NW-wind) and Yugos (SO-wind) but especially in spring and autumn, the strong Bura (NO wind) whipped up the sea with large waves. This conditions bring the real thing, if the wind speed increases to 9 or 10. Then is the time to see the World Cup and Champions on the beaches of Croatia.

And if you do not belong to the Champs, but would still like to try, the equipment can be rented from the local water sports bases and you can start your first attempts on more quiet days.

Motor boats, Water Skiing

A nice alternative if on calm days the sea lies smooth as glass in front of us!
Small motorboats for 4 - 6 people are offered at the harbor for rent for one or several days. The day before, stop by, agree price and delivery time - and you are your own skipper! Ship ahoy!

Sailing

That the Croatian Adriatic Sea is a sailor's paradise needs no telling. If you and your crew but do not need accomodation, but nevertheless want to visit Villa Destiny, let me know. It's well known that sailors are always hungry people and I'm always ready to prepare a nice evening with a Dalmatian dinner for your crew . Call and order in advance!
If you have not tried sailing yet, but always wanted, you'll also have the opportunity. A sailing school and sailingboat rentals (Laser class) offers the sailing club Zvir in Krizna luka.
And if you just want to see what's going on in a real race, then visit us in late December and experience the annual international "New Year's Regatta.

You now have enough of water! Ok, we just go on land!

Mountain Biking

The best time for long trips on the bike over the fragrant island is undoubtedly the spring and early summer or automn. Wherever you ride on traffic-free routes through the country, you will smell blooming lavender, rosemary and pine trees!

Let's go to the highest mountain, the "St. Nicholas"! The effort is worth it. From there you can enjoy on all sides a view that has no equal. And on the return journey, perhaps have a rest in Humac, an old pastoral settlement to indulge in the delicacies of local cuisine that are prepared here in ancient tradition and come directly from the organic garden and the sea on your table! Learn more about this, we report in our "Culinary Delights".

Of course, you need not to bring your "bike", but can rent it here!

Hiking

Where you come up with a mountain bike, of course you can also do it on foot! Hvar is really ramble! Marching from the picturesque bay Dubovica

along the cliffs above the bay Piscina an an impressive view to the "Red Rocks", which drop sharply into the sea, continue along the south coast to Sv. Nedjelja, a small village in the south, where you wait with a refreshing drink until we pick you up and bring you back home.
Or come with me on a "Herb Walk" to explain where the wild green asparagus grows, you can enjoy it for dinner in the cream soup, and which of the many herbs not only fragrant but are very tasty too.
Of course we could all travel together by boat to the Pakleni Islands and from there on the narrow footpath from Palmizana across the islands in the small village Vlaka which is inhabited only in summer and visit it's old stone church.
Here you have in September an unbelievable view over the lush vineyards that give the impression that they pour directly into the blue of the sea!
However, if we stop there in late automn or winter we will meet only few people staying throughout the year, and they will at least offfr juicy, fresh tangerines or a sweet pomegranate
directly from the tree and we'll get a drink. Really a special experience!

You can also simply take the most essential swimwear wrap it in your backpack and walk from bay to bay!

Stroll along the narrow coastal paths and jump into the water where you like it.

Tennis

Tennis tradition is important in Hvar! The first tennis court was built here in 1914, but of cours we have a modern tennis center now on the island.
Today you can find it on the outskirts of Hvar with clay courts and floodlights, as well as a fine restaurant. Here, every year, especially in spring, also international tournaments are taking place.
Swimming and relaxing

Now you have really had enough action? Well at last you can relax in peace now, yes. Let it all hang out and experience Hvar, as I like it best!
Enchanting beaches on the coast of Hvar and the offshore Pakleni Islands will allow you even in high season, a quiet, relaxing spa day, far from the madding crowds.
Forget the day. Breathe Hvar and take as many pictures as possible home with you. They will make the time bearable until your next vacation here!
